It's appeal is for a desired character compression rather than a general use compressor. That aside, Monster is a quality free (partial) 1176 plugin. That said, Slate just released a de-esser for VMR about a month ago. That's how it is with any channel strip plugin. With the Waves SSL (except for the one that's just and EQ) you would have the same de-esser issue of having to put it before or after EQ and compression and not in between. VMR is basically a modular channel strip. You'd have to think about VMR in the same way you think of the Waves SSL. The Best Part, it has everything to shape up a track. As a Mixer I would much prefer Waves SSL or Duende. Signal flow wise the most inflexible one if you have EQ and compressor in VMR you can't put de-esser between the middle. The plugin market has already in peak level but sales people are pushing it harder. Sound toys has devil lock right? why don't people rather have that one relatively the whole collection with a cheaper price than this VMR crap? cause sales or company defence groups are all over the internet.Įvery time a plugin came out, the first thing I ask is can I do it by learning the tools I got? and if so I would rather learn my tools than get a plugin. Those who are unaware of whats going on will pay the price. Why on earth do I need this monster thing and talk about it all week or month while I fully understand that most plugins can give me same result? This industry has internet forum sells people and they always tend to say hoo hoo best plugin ever. I do believe the plugins market has saturated but sales people are working actively so people have no clue about it.

Gak, If I may ask, What makes VMR brilliant? I have found it the most useless product in my plugins collection.
